Your seller application

What we look at, how long it takes and what happens if we come back to you.

The request is a short message, not an application pack. Four fields, no documents, no portfolio to upload and no forms to print. It opens from the top bar while you are signed out, from the footer's SELL column, and from the How to sell page.

What to write

Country and Email Address are quickly done. The two that matter are Title and Content, and together they are the whole application.

There is no template to follow, but these are the things we end up asking about when they are missing:

Write in your own words and in your own language. The form records which language you are reading Artmire in, and a request written plainly in your own is worth far more to us than a stiff one written in someone else's.

What we look at

One thing, and it is the same condition the seller section opens with: is what you offer worth keeping by its next owner. Everything else follows from that.

What we are not measuring:

What does count against a request is the opposite of the condition — mass-produced stock that anyone can order in quantity, items you cannot show us, or anything that is not yours to sell.

After you press Submit Request

You will see Thank you for your interest! We will contact you soon., and the window closes itself. That is the whole of it: the request is with us.

It will not appear anywhere in your account. There is no application page to check and no status to watch, so do not go looking for one — the next thing that happens is an email from us to the address you typed on the form.

That address does not have to be the one on your Artmire account, and the form does not fill it in for you even when you are signed in — so read it back before sending. If our reply is slow to appear, check the folder your mail program hides things in.

Every request is read by a person rather than scored by a machine, which is why the answer is not instant. It is also why you get a real reply within 3 business days at the most, rather than an automated response.

If it is a fit

We write back, and from there it is a conversation rather than a process. A contractual agreement is signed, and then we set the shop up with you.

What we ask for at that stage, none of which the first request needs:

None of that is public until it is ready to be. Your shop page is published by us, and not before you are happy with what is on it.

If it is not

We tell you, rather than leaving you waiting on an email that never comes.

A no is about a moment, not about you. Shops change, collections grow, and what you make in a year's time may be exactly right when it was not today. Nothing stops you sending another request later, and we would rather read a second one than have you assume the door is closed.

What comes next

Once the shop exists, the seller area appears beside your account menu and everything else in this section applies to you. The tour is the place to start.
