Use the tabs, the category menu and the search box to narrow everything on Artmire down to the items you want.
Everything for sale on Artmire is on the homepage. There are three ways to narrow it down — the tabs across the top, the category menu, and the search box — and they all work together.
The row of tabs under the header splits the whole catalogue in several ways. Only one is active at a time.
The menu beside the search box lists every category that currently has something for sale in it, so you will never pick one and find it empty. You can have one category selected at a time; choose All categories to clear it.
The search box looks inside each listing's title, its short description, its full description, the keywords the seller added, and any translation of that listing. Results update as you type, a moment after you stop.
Type several words and it finds listings carrying all of them, in any order — "painting oil" and "oil painting" return the same results. Part of a word works too: "neckla" finds necklaces. But it matches letters, not meaning: a misspelling finds nothing, and it does not know that "sofa" and "couch" are the same thing. If you get no results, try one shorter word rather than several long ones. Seller and shop names are not searched; to find a particular seller, open one of their items and follow the link to their shop.
The tab, the category and the search words apply together, so you can look for "silver" inside Jewelry on the Sale tab and get only items that satisfy all three. Changing any of them takes you back to the first page of results.
Most tabs lead with the most viewed items, and use the number of people who have favourited an item to settle ties — so what you see first is what other shoppers are looking at. New Arrivals and Sale are the exception: they lead with the most recent instead, which is the whole point of those two.
At the foot of the grid you can choose how many items to show per page — 50, 100, 150 or 200 — and page through the rest.
Some things are deliberately absent from every list and search on Artmire:
A shop can be on holiday without closing. Its items stay visible, marked "On vacation" where the discount badge normally sits, and you can browse them and message the seller — you just cannot order until they are back.
Your search words, category, tab, page and page size are remembered for as long as your browser tab is open. Open an item, read it, come back, and the grid is exactly as you left it. The X inside the search box clears the words and the category together.
The heart on each item saves it to your favourites, so you can find it again without searching for it twice. You need to be signed in to save one, and the count beside the heart is visible to everyone.
