Rare 1940s glazed stoneware Madonna wall sculpture by Belgian artist Roger Guérin, collectible and in very good condition. This vintage Madonna wall sculpture is a remarkable example of Belgian ceramic art from the 1940s, created by Roger Guérin (1896–1954), one of the most admired European ceramists of his time. Executed in enamelled majolica (Grès de Bouffioulx), the piece displays a refined sculptural quality and a serene spiritual expression.

The sculpture is signed “Grès Guérin Bouffioulx” on the bottom (L4) and retains its original glaze and patina. Guérin’s work was highly respected and even admired by Pablo Picasso, sharing stylistic similarities with the works of Dominique Piechaud from the same period.

This rare and expressive Madonna is both a spiritual object and a collector’s artwork, ideal for lovers of sacred art, Art Deco ceramics, and European mid-century design.
